Luke Adams & Moses Dyer, Eastern Suburbs players currently in KONE, New Caledonia on All Whites duty comment on Eastern Suburbs progress in the National League and their sense of pride playing for the All Whites.

Dyer: “There's a really good feeling around Eastern Suburbs AFC at the moment”

KONE, New Caledonia - All Whites and Lilywhites midfielder Moses Dyer says support from Eastern Suburbs AFC has been top notch since joining the club.

Away on international duty with the All Whites in Kone, New Caledonia, Dyer was buoyed by his club side's East-West derby win over Waitakere United.

"I was happy with the boys getting the win and I'm really happy we're now on 9 points.

"There's a really good feeling around Eastern Suburbs AFC at the moment, we're doing well and want that to continue," he said.

Standing in the way of Dyer's objective are two international team-mates, Clayton Lewis and Te Atawhai Hudson-Wihongi, both with Auckland City FC.

Moses’s looking forward to some good humoured banter when Suburbs plays Auckland City

Tongue-firmly-in-cheek, Dyer can't wait for the banter to begin with the Navy Blues pair (Clayton Lewis and Te Atawhai Hudson-Wihongi) after the group returns from FIFA World Cup qualifier duties to New Zealand.

"I'm looking forward to seeing those two guys out on the pitch sometime soon and I'm pretty sure Eastern Suburbs AFC will come away with a win when we play them.

"The banter will start piping up a bit soon, I'm pretty sure, but while we're international duty its quiet and you stay focused on what we need to do for New Zealand," he said.

"Playing for the All Whites is one of the greatest honours you can experience in football”
Playing for the All Whites is an honour Dyer holds in the highest regard and he demands the best standard from himself he can muster.

"Everytime I go out onto the pitch, everytime I get the chance, I try to do my best for New Zealand," he said.

Luke Adams: “It mean’s everything to be with the All Whites”

Luke is team mates with Moses in the All Whites & Eastern Suburbs teams, both players are currently in New Caledonia with the All Whites squad:

"It means everything to be with the All Whites.Growing up, I always wanted to be an All White and once you've had a taste you always want to get back there.

"The boys are awesome and being here is just great," he said.

The All Whites beat New Caledonia in the first of two FIFA World Cup qualifiers so Adams and fellow Lilywhites midfielder Moses Dyer missed their club's latest match in the Stirling Sports Premiership.

Luke’s comments on Eastern Suburbs progress in the National League:

"It was a good result for the team (Suburbs 1 – 0 win over Waitakere united on Sunday). The game was on while we were on the flight to New Caledonia.

"Me and Moses were kept updated and looking at the game and so it was good to win the first East-West derby.

"A 1-0 win was great so it was a good lift for us.

"We've won three out of four and had a bad one down in Hamilton but the boys have bounced back so that's good.

"Mal and Martin Bullock have done really well, so have the board and Chris Ruffell with the club so its been good," he said.

With the Lilywhites sitting in second place in the table there's the looming matter of another derby clash with Auckland City FC.

Adams insists that the focus remains firmly on the job at hand with New Zealand and pushing the All Whites FIFA World Cup hopes.

But he also says its human to look ahead at times.

"We haven't talked too much about the rivalry with Auckland City FC too much this week because we're on international duty but I can imagine when it comes closer to the time we'll all engage in a bit of banter.

"Obviously, both teams are doing well at the moment and they're the leaders at the moment.

"We played them in pre-season but the Stirling Sports Premiership showdown will be completely different.

"It's good, we're excited. A bit of friendly fire at the right time would be good," he said.

Both Moses & Luke kept their final thoughts& comments for those back home affected by the earthquake.

Moses: "I hope everyone is safe. Fortunately, my own family and friends are safe and well and the main thing is to send positive thoughts back to everyone affected back home," he said.

Luke: “Make sure your safe, close to your family at this time, it’s important to get through as a country.”
