Who
Any male or female aged over 17 on 1st April 2008. We have many teams and abilities ranging from Premier level to beginners.
All ages over 17 can play and we have age group teams including under 19’s, over 30’s and over 35’s.
Where and When
Games are played at our home grounds or away at grounds across Auckland and Manukau regions. Our home grounds are at Madill’s Farm, Glover Park and Crossfields Reserve.
Kick off times vary but generally are played on Saturdays at 1pm or 2.45pm for male players and Sundays at 11am or 1pm for female players.
How
Games are played in line with FIFA and Soccer 2 regulations and laws. Female teams play 40 minute halves instead of 45 minute halves.
Referees may officiate games dependant on their availability. If there is not an official referee or a club based referee available, it is customary for the participating teams to referee a half each.
There is a maximum of three substitutes with some lower leagues allowing rolling substitutes, again to a maximum of three players or more if both teams agree.
Teams
Generally we will have at least one team competing in each Soccer 2 league.
A squad usually consists of at least 15 players.
Team Contacts
A team contact will be appointed when the teams are filled. If any players require assistance they should contact their team contact in the first instance.
Season
All senior teams commence matches on the weekend of the 5th and 6th April 2008. The season is usually complete by the end of August although this will be dependant on the number of matches in each league.
Coaching/Training
Teams request a time and area for training prior to the start of the season. When the time and area is allotted a training guide will be sent to the team contact.
Uniforms
Club colours are white & yellow.
Players are supplied the following equipment and kit for use during the season
Shirts
Shorts
Balls
Training Bibs
Cones/Discs
Kitbag
These will be handed out at the start of the season to the team contact who will return upon completion of the season.
Players are required to provide the following:
Yellow socks (white for ladies)
Boots
Shin pads
Any other equipment or kit not supplied by the club
There is club monogrammed apparel available for puchase e.g. jackets.
Club Facilities
The club has changing rooms and showers as well as a fully catered bar at the Madill’s Farm ground. Members are encouraged to use the facilities to help the club maintain the facilities that we provide.
Club fees and policy
Eastern Suburbs is a non-profit organisation run by volunteers. The membership subscription fees are to cover charges imposed on us by Auckland Football and New Zealand Football, as well as the operating cost of the club.
Subscription fees for the 2008 season are as follow:
- Under 19 - $180 plus $15 bond = $195
- Senior male and female - $195 plus $15 bond = $210
The bond is refunded at the end of each season to each team contact less any expenses/fines that the team may have incurred during the season.
Fines (Yellow Cards, Red Cards, Late Game Cards, etc)
Auckland Football charges fines for yellow cards, red cards, late game cards etc throughout the season. Please note that your subscription fee does not cover fines. These are covered by your bond. The club will not pay player fines. Any team that incur fines over the total bond they have will be withdrawn from their league until the outstanding amount is paid.
Fees are required to be paid prior to the start of the season
The club has a firm policy for the season of “no pay no play”.
Refunds attract a 25% deduction to cover service and other non-refundable fees incurred to Eastern Suburbs. No refunds after May 1st.
The reason for this is that the club must pay fees to Soccer2 at the time of team entry to each league prior to the start of the season.
No team will be allowed to start its competition until all the players in the squad have paid their subscription.
